At ANEW Village Doula Collective, our mission is to empower, train, and support community-based doulas from all backgrounds, particularly those from underserved communities, to elevate the quality of maternal health care in New York City and beyond. We aim to create a compassionate, well-prepared doula workforce capable of delivering client-centered, culturally sensitive care that strengthens families and communities.
We are dedicated to supporting aspiring and practicing doulas who share a commitment to maternal health and wellness. Our services are tailored for community-based doulas, new and expectant fathers, and pregnant and postpartum individuals—particularly within Black and underserved communities. Through our programs, we address the unique needs of doulas and their clients, creating pathways for improved maternal outcomes, enriched family dynamics, and community empowerment.
ANEW Village Doula Collective offers a range of professional development programs, mentorship initiatives, and administrative support services to help doulas establish and sustain their practices. We provide skills training through birth worker bootcamps, continuing education workshops, and specialized programs like our Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL) doula support and Fatherhood Program, empowering doulas to address a spectrum of needs. Our administrative support service assists community-based doulas with client data collection, invoicing, and documentation, ensuring doulas can focus on client care with confidence.
Through our work, ANEW Village Doula Collective seeks to transform maternal health care outcomes by empowering doulas who are at the heart of community care. By cultivating a knowledgeable, diverse workforce of doulas, we are creating a ripple effect that impacts families and, ultimately, our communities. We are dedicated to fostering a maternal health ecosystem that is inclusive, nurturing, and empowering for every family we serve.
